***Embrionix joins AIMS Alliance to better help customers navigate the transition to IP - 2016-03-09

Laval, Quebec (March 9th) — Embrionix, the worldwide leader in advanced SFP and emSFP development, is proud to join AIMS Alliance. AIMS Alliance regroups leading broadcast equipment manufacturers, OEM providers and broadcasters and guides them in the application of TR-03 (ST-2110) and TR-04  (ST-2110) standards implemented by the VSF comities.

Embrionix’s popular emSFP products already support multiple standards such as SDI, Aspen, SMPTE 2022-6, TR-03 (ST-2110) and more. With the addition of AIMS Alliance, the emSFPs will participate in interoperability workshops to ensure compatibility between the various encapsulating standards.

“Embrionix is pleased to join AIMS Alliance as we strongly believe multiples standards such as Aspen, TR-03 (ST-2110), TR-04 (ST-2110) and SMPTE 2022-6 will co-exist for multiple applications and scenarios. Embrionix gives end customers the flexibility to incorporate equipment that can support different standards)without the need for substantial infrastructural changes and long downtimes. We have received a clear message from our customers that multi vendor interconnections should be as simple as SDI, and for this reason, Embrionix will play a key role in enabling interoperability by incorporating the various standards”, said Sarkis Abrahamian, VP Business Development at Embrionix.

“With the new era of IP platforms, end customers will deal with multiples standards and codecs. To name only a few: 2022-6(AIMS), TR-03, ST-2110 (AIMS), TR-04 ST-2110 (AIMS), Aspen, LLVC, J2K, AVCI, HEVC, VC-2 and now TICO compression. This plurality of standards and codecs could be complex for end customers. “Any complexity is quickly eliminated with the emONE, an agile encapsulation format adaptor that powers the emSFP, we believe that the AIMS is the preferred IP interoperability Roadmap for the broadcast industry, but wee need to support the current and future standards ”, added Abrahamian.

Embrionix will be showcasing the SDI to IP SFP technology in the North Hall, Booth N5116. Embrionix will also have a presence at more than 40+ booths at NAB this year, demonstrating the diverse format adaptors available with the SFP and emSFP modules.
