Embrionix, the leader in video over IP solutions and manufacturer of the world's first SDI to IP solution using an SFP+ form-factor, completed the ST-2110 recent interoperability session in Houston. This validation session proves that uncompressed video over IP can be efficiently used in broadcast applications. The ST-2110 IP format allows the transport of separated Audio, Video and Metadata essences. One can mix and match any essences to compose the video signal using one uniform IP infrastructure.
Embrionix proposes Gateway solutions that are extremely well adapted for your IP infrastructure. The emSFP-GATEWAY are installed directly inside the IP switch where they perform the SDI to IP conversion. SDI signals or IP native signals can be connected to the same existing COTS (Commercial Of The Shelf) switches reducing the cost, space and power consumption of the solution. This same technology is used inside small standalone converters called emFUSION and emVIEW. These modules can interconnect SDI or HDMI devices located at a distance up to 10Km to the IP network using fiber optical connectivity.
“We are pleased with the results from this interop. We could validate our recent improvements to complete the standard supporting all three essence types (video, audio, and metadata) on our encapsulator and de-encapsulator products. This was tested successfully with the majority of the vendors present at the event," said Louis Caron, Embrionix Director of product development.
"Using our devices, a broadcaster can now shuffle audio channels, make breakaways without needing additional multiplexing devices or other routing mechanisms from the infrastructure. Our receiver can remap audio on any of up to 16 separate audio flows. Each video, audio, and metadata essence can be manipulated independently using unique multicast IP addressing for every essence transmitted in the network. Essences are synchronized using PTP (ST-2059) signal, which plays the role of genlock for SDI. Finally, the control is taken care of by NMOS ISO-04, -05, and -06, a universal discovery and flow control solution being defined by the AMWA organization. For all these reasons, our solution is ahead of the game," added Louis Caron.
Embrionix will demonstrate the ST2110 various flows at IBC 2017 inside the emSFP-GATEWAY , emFUSION, and emVIEW. In addition to the ST2110, the ST2022-6, ST2022-7, ST2022-1/2, AMWA, NMOS SFP+ micro services technology will be featured at the Embrionix booth, 8.B92.
