***Embrionix unveils a new generation of 12G-SDI Optical modules for NAB 2017, capable of reaching beyond 25km

Laval, Quebec, March 26 , 2017 — Embrionix, manufacturer of the emSFP, is proud to announce the release of a new generation of 12G-SDI optical video SFP.  Our latest SFP technology will address the growing demand for 12G-SDI single-link 4K, as well as simplify video transport at higher data rates for 4K, 8K and 16K multi-link applications.

“Higher transport rates in broadcast have seen a significant increase in demand. Customers need to use 4K in its native data form. Optical 12G-SDI transport is the highest quality, lowest latency, and most adaptable mode of transport.  Our previous generation was a ground-breaking solution that enabled early adopters to carry 12G-SDI over longer distances that coax did not meet. The product met the initial requirements but did not meet all the criteria of the stringent ST2082 specification.” Said Sarkis Abrahamian, Embrionix VP of business development.

This new product series uses the latest generation of high performance lasers and optical components. The production SFP part was tested in a laboratory setting, with fiber reach of 40km at a 12G rate. “Our R&D team made exceptional efforts fine tuning the modules characteristics and formula to meet the ST2082 specification.  We are proud of this important achievement which makes Embrionix solution unique in the industry. The latest SFP optics performs 4 times better compared to our previous generation.
