Laval, Quebec ( March 12, 2013) -- Embrionix Design today announced it has reached a broadcast milestone with the introduction of the industry’s first coaxial SFP equiped with passive loopback. The passive bypass allows Embrionix’s customers to cascade several units or using the emSFP in a critical application. The passive loop control enable the user to turn on/off the loop after few seconds if required.
Embrionix coaxial -PL series modules are capable of transporting the 3G-SDI signal over 100 meters when the module is off or the passive bypass is forced. The flexibility of the emSFP family allows you to deploy this technology in any broadcast or media facility or network topology, providing a truly flexible and powerful solution for signal monitoring.
The Embrionix passive bypass SFP series will be released first for the video industry, with telecommunication as the second phase. “Embrionix team understands that high speed video signals, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and soon 10G-SDI bring a lot of challenges for designers, and the emSFP should be features rich, to enable those designer to easily used the SFP for all the applications”, said Renaud Lavoie, CEO of Embrionix.
