Amsterdam, IBC 2018, Stand 8B.37 ̶ September 13 , 2018 ̶ Embrionix announced today it will unveil its patented All-IP emSFP Microservice Platform at its IBC 2018 Stand 8B.37. This latest addition to the company’s family of the patented software-defined gateways, is capable of processing up to two 4K UHD SMPTE ST2110/ST2022-7 signals and offers various processing microservices including frame Sync, up/down/cross converter, downscaler, color correction, audio shuffling, video/audio/metadata timing adjustment, and all-IP quad split among other functions.
“The All-IP emSFP can be installed in any IP switch and virtualized,” said Renaud Lavoie, Embrionix CEO. “Our All-IP emSFP platform enables customers to add a simple, miniaturized HD or UHD microservice anywhere in their IP infrastructure without deploying new frames and cards. At IBC this year we will show the ALL-IP emSFP with a downscale microservice, which enables a proxy from a 4K UHD ST2110 signal for monitoring applications.”
In addition to the new 4K ST2110 downscaler, Embrionix will demonstrate the Quad-Split microservice in action: “This microservice, first announced at NAB 2018, will be demonstrated running on five All-IP emSFPs. Each emSFP will run a quad-split to create a sixteen-image multiview. The demo will focus on how simplicity and small footprint are essential to what our customers expect in a new generation of multiviewers,” added Lavoie.
Embrionix provides very compact, high-density IP gateways, signal processors, converters and multiviewers for broadcast video applications. The company’s innovative low-footprint solutions free up premium rack space, consume less power and close the gap between fiber optic, coaxial and emerging IP technology deployments (including SMPTE ST2110, ST2022-6, ST2022-1/2, HDMI, composite video).
The transition to IP becomes much easier with a highly optimized solution for SDI-to-IP conversion provided by Embrionix. This is made possible with the company’s miniaturized emSFP modules equipped with an IP encapsulator and decapsulator. These miniaturized devices can be installed directly inside 10GE, 25GE COTS IP switches or inside the company’s 1RU emMODULAR aggregation frame and can convert any SDI legacy equipment within an IP network. Embrionix also offers a series of standalone, compact gateways tailored to monitor and format-convert IP signals.
With headquarters located outside of Montreal Canada, Embrionix has design, research & development, and sales offices located in countries around the world. The company’s solutions are also available through a global network of professional value added resellers.
